Anti-rust paint features
Being able to adhere very well over rust on metal surfaces without the possibility of grit blasting, providing high physical and chemical resistance to the applied surfaces, creating a smooth surface for all types of air and oven-cured topcoats to be applied on top.
Ferrorust Resin Composition; Special Resin
Description of Ferrorust paint
Ferrorust Primer is a single-component and specially developed primer that provides long-lasting anti-corrosive resistance over rust.
Applications of Ferrorust Primer
Ferrorust Primer is a specially designed air-drying primer. It is particularly designed to incorporate rust formed on metal surfaces without the possibility of grit blasting, providing high physical and chemical resistance.
Ferrorust Primer Anti-Rust Application
Surface Preparation:
The rust layer on metal surfaces to be treated with Ferrorust Primer should be partially removed by mechanical means. After mechanical cleaning, the surface should be cleaned with an electric vacuum cleaner, clean and dry air, or a clean brush. The first coat of primer should ideally be applied immediately, or at most within 2 hours after this process.
Primer Application:
Ferrorust Primer (1011-1111) should be thoroughly mixed with a drill mixer after opening the packaging. Ferrorust Thinner (1051-1411) is added at the recommended rate to achieve the application viscosity. This mixture provides the application viscosity. (For spray applications, the viscosity should be adjusted to 20” - 24” / DC4 / 20°C, and for brush and roller applications, it should be 25” - 40” / DC4 / 20°C.) It is recommended to apply two coats of the prepared mixture to give a dry film thickness of 150 - 200 microns to enhance corrosion resistance. If wet on wet application is not performed, wait for 2 hours for the acceptance of the second coat. Notes During Application: Ambient temperature should be between 5°C and 50°C, the temperature of the substrate to be applied should be between 10°C and 30°C, Relative Humidity should be < 85%. Adequate ventilation must be provided in enclosed spaces to prevent any health issues or fire hazards. When a combined primer and topcoat wet on wet application is preferred, wait at least 30 minutes after the primer application before applying the topcoat, considering the product characteristics of the topcoat. If multiple coats are desired without wet on wet application and if 36 hours have elapsed between the coats, light sanding should be done. After the application, the surface should not be exposed to water for at least 36 hours. After application, paint equipment should be thoroughly cleaned with 1051-1411 Ferrorust Thinner.
