Heat Resistant Paint Specifications
The physical resistance provided by its ability to adhere very well to the applied surface without the need for primer application before painting is its high heat resistance. 250°C - 800°C
Definition of Paint
Heat-resistant topcoat paint is a semi-matte appearance topcoat paint containing silicone with high physical resistance and heat resistance.
Areas of UseHeat Resistant Top Coat is specially designed for all metal surfaces exposed to high temperatures ranging from 250°C to 800°C, so it can be easily applied to all metal surfaces. The paint is designed in three heat resistance ranges, 250°C - 400°C, 400°C - 600°C, and 600°C - 800°C, for use on the external surfaces of areas where high heat is present, including steam boilers, fireplace paint, and exhaust paint.
Surface Cleaning:
To achieve the expected success of the Heat Resistant system, surface preparation to be performed is as important as the application itself. Any moisture, chloride, sulfate salts, rust, scale, according to Swedish Standard SIS 05 5900 Sa 2 ½ degree by grit blasting method, or mechanical method St 2 standard, should be removed from the metal surfaces. In addition, dust, dirt, oil, and grease on metal surfaces should be cleaned with cleaning agents and/or high-pressure water jet. Welding spatters and sharp edges of the surfaces should be ground. After different cleaning processes, the surface should be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner, clean and dry air, or a clean brush. After these processes, the surface should have a slight metallic sheen, and the surface should be applied preferably immediately, at most within 30 minutes.
How to Apply Paint
After opening the package of Heat Resistant Top Coat 4009-1, it is thoroughly mixed with a preferably motorized drill to homogenize it. There is no need to add thinner to bring it to the desired viscosity. It is recommended to apply it to give a dry film thickness of 30 – 35 µ.
During Application:
Air temperature should be between 5°C and 50°C,
The temperature of the surface to be applied should be between 10°C and 30°C,
Relative humidity should be < 85%.
Important Reminders:
In applications made in closed envsteelments to prevent any health problems or fire hazards, adequate ventilation should be provided. After the application, all paint equipment used during the application should be thoroughly cleaned with 1351-1401 Cellulosic Thinner. After application, the surface should not be in contact with water for at least 36 hours. Before using the painted surface, it should be left for 2 days to ensure complete curing.
