Epoxy Primer Resin Structure: Epoxy resin.

Epoxy Primer price excluding VAT: 135.00 TL / kg

Epoxy Primer Features

Adhesion to light metals and sheet surfaces, Provides corrosion and moisture resistance, Can be applied wet-on-wet, creates a smooth surface for all types of air and oven drying top coats applied on it.

Epoxy Primer Description

Epoxy Primer is a two-component, anti-corrosive, epoxy-based primer.

Epoxy Primer Application Areas

Epoxy Primer can be easily applied to all metal sheet surfaces. It is specially formulated for use in areas requiring moisture and corrosion resistance, such as trucks, buses, minibuses, trailer tractors and trailers, all kinds of motor vehicles, and metal constructions of industrial facilities.

Epoxy Primer Application
Surface Preparation:

Before applying the primer, Epoxy Shop Primer (1411-1106) should have been applied as a pre-fabrication primer on the surface. The epoxy system can also be easily used directly as a primer on metal surfaces after the necessary surface preparations. For direct applications on the surface, the surface preparation to achieve the expected success of the system is as important as the application itself. Any moisture, chloride, sulfate salts, rust, mill scale on metal surfaces should be removed using grit blasting method to Sa 2 ½ grade according to Swedish Standard SIS 05 5900, or mechanically to St 2 standard. Additionally, dust, dirt, oil, and grease on metal surfaces should be cleaned with cleaning agents and/or high-pressure water jet. Welding spatters and sharp edges should be ground. After different cleaning processes, the surface should be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner, clean and dry air, or a clean brush. After these processes, there should be a slight metallic sheen on the surface, and the paint should preferably be applied immediately, but no later than 30 minutes after this process.

Primer Application:
Epoxy Primer (1411-1101) should be thoroughly mixed with a drill motor after opening the package, and then mixed with Epoxy Hardener (1411-1501) in the specified ratio. Epoxy Thinner (1451-1401) should be added in the recommended ratio to bring the mixture to application viscosity. The mixture provides application viscosity. (For spray applications, the application viscosity should be adjusted to 19” - 23” / DC4 / 20°C, and for brush and roller applications, 25” - 40” / DC4 / 20°C.) To achieve the expected performance from Epoxy Primer, it is recommended to apply it to the surface with a dry film thickness of at least 70 - 80 µ. If a wet-on-wet application is not to be done, wait at least 4 hours for intercoat adhesion before applying the second coat.

During Application:

Air temperature should be between 5°C and 50°C, The temperature of the surface to be applied should be between 10°C and 30°C, Relative Humidity should be < 85%.

Important Reminders:

To avoid any health problems or fire hazards, ensure proper ventilation in enclosed spaces during application. If a wet-on-wet application is preferred, wait at least 60 minutes after applying the primer before applying the top coat, while paying attention to the product characteristics of the top coat. If multiple coats are desired without a wet-on-wet application, lightly sand the surface if more than 72 hours have passed between coats. Prepare mixes in suitable quantities for the job and continue until the entire mix is used. After completing the application, thoroughly clean all painting equipment used during application with Epoxy Thinner 1451-1401. After application, the surface should not be exposed to water for at least 36 hours. Wait 7 days for full curing.
