Epoxy Zinc Rich Primer

Epoxy Structure; Epoxy Resin

Epoxy Zinc Rich Primer price excluding VAT is 345,00 tl / kg

Description;

Epoxy Zinc Rich Primer is a two-component epoxy-based primer containing 85% zinc powder.

Epoxy Zinc Rich Primer paint coating features

No time limit for layer acceptance, No need for sanding, Long intervals between base and top coat applications can be made easily without sanding, It can be used as a pre-coating primer if applied to the surface to give a dry film thickness of 25 – 30 µ, Protects steel surfaces from corrosion in case of scratches and damages caused by friction

Areas of Use of Zinc Rich Primer Paint

Epoxy Zinc Rich Primer paint is developed especially for use on the internal and external surfaces of refineries, petrochemical plants, and tanks containing petroleum products. It can be easily used on all types of steel structures and metal surfaces to be manufactured on docks, bridges, underwater, and by the sea. In addition to these areas, it can be preferred on all metal surfaces where high corrosion resistance is required.

Epoxy Primer Application
Surface Preparation:

Surface preparation for the Epoxy Zinc Rich system to achieve the expected success is as important as the application itself. Any moisture, chloride, sulfate salts, rust, mill scale, according to Swedish Standard SIS 05 5900 Sa 2 ½ degrees grit blasting method, or mechanical method should be removed from the metal surfaces. In addition, dust, dirt, oil, and grease on metal surfaces should be cleaned with cleaning agents and/or high-pressure water jet. Welding spatters and sharp corners of surfaces should be ground. After different cleaning processes, the surface should be cleaned with an electric vacuum cleaner, clean and dry air, or a clean brush. After these processes, the surface should have a slight metallic sheen, and the application should be applied to the surface preferably immediately, at the latest within 30 minutes.

Primer Application:
After opening the Epoxy Zinc Rich (1411-1103) package, it should be thoroughly mixed with a drill-powered mixer and homogenized, and mixed with the specified amount of Epoxy Hardener (1411-1503). The recommended amount of Epoxy Thinner (1451-1401) should be added to bring the mixture to the application viscosity. (For spray applications, the application viscosity should be adjusted to 20” - 23” / DC4 / 20°C.) To increase corrosion resistance, it is recommended to apply the mixture prepared to leave a dry film thickness of at least 80 - 90 µ on the surface. If no overcoat application will be made, a waiting time of 2 hours should be observed for layer acceptance during the second coat application.

During Application

The air temperature should be between 5°C and 50°C,
The temperature of the surface to be applied should be between 10°C and 30°C,
Relative Humidity should be < 85%.

Important Reminders:

In order to avoid any health issues or fire hazards, adequate ventilation should be provided in indoor applications. When it is preferred to apply the primer and topcoat together, and if overcoating is desired, it is necessary to wait for at least 45 minutes after the primer application, provided that attention is paid to the product properties of the topcoat. Mixtures should be prepared in the appropriate amounts according to the job sequence, and work should continue until the entire mixture is consumed. At the end of the work, all paint equipment used during the application should be thoroughly cleaned with Epoxy Thinner (1451-1401). After application, the surface should not come into contact with water for at least 36 hours. It is necessary to wait for 7 days to ensure full curing.
